CaneloÁlvarez
How Canelo Álvarez fights, what his record shows and where his world titles have come from, from welterweight up to light heavyweight.
Přehled
An orthodox boxer, Canelo Álvarez works behind a long jab and a 70½-inch reach, slipping his head off the centre line before firing short combinations to head and body. He cuts the ring rather than chasing, walking opponents to the ropes and unloading there. That front-foot pressure and punch selection have carried him up through the weight classes, from welterweight to light heavyweight.
The Mexican's professional ledger reads 63 wins, three defeats and two draws, with 39 knockouts inside those fights. World titles at middleweight and super middleweight sit alongside the WBO light heavyweight belt, and The Ring has twice named him Fighter of the Year. The same magazine has also twice given him its knockout-of-the-year award.
